Child reading

Enrollment

Enrollment in the Lab School is open to the public.

As a program of the University of Minnesota, we provide equal access to and opportunity in our programs, facilities, and employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, disability, public assistance status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

We operate on the University of Minnesota semester calendar. Enrollment is for the entire academic year. Once admitted, we expect a child to continue until they’re ready for kindergarten.

New families

We ask that prospective families take a tour of the school. During your visit, you’ll meet with a staff member who will discuss the school’s mission, philosophies, and practices. You’ll have the opportunity to observe children in our program and to ask questions. To schedule a tour, contact Program Specialist Amy Pieren at piere001@umn.edu or 612-625-6549.

How to apply

Current families

We give enrollment priority to children currently attending the Lab School and their siblings. Current families receive enrollment information for the next school year in mid-January. A $200 per child non-refundable enrollment fee is due within 14 days of receiving a re-enrollment/sibling enrollment offer from the school.
