The Shirley G. Moore Lab School is in the process of designing a new building and integrating our programming with the University of Minnesota Child Development Center. A new building is estimated to open in 2021. Click here to learn more about the project.
At the Shirley G. Moore Laboratory School, we’re a community of learners that’s driven by discovery.
Our play-based curriculum not only fosters each child’s creative spirit, but also their cognitive and intellectual development.
In addition to our littlest learners, our program educates undergraduate and graduate teacher candidates, who share their excitement for learning.
As a laboratory school, we’re an active center for research. What this means: we’re able to put discoveries about child development into practice.
Creating lifelong learners
We aim to inspire children to become learners for life. We also make school fun! To us, playing is learning, and each experience is an opportunity for a child to gain knowledge.

Our commitment to quality
We’re also accredited by NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
