New families are enrolled on an academic year basis. We do not maintain wait lists in advance of the next academic year. Children must be 24 months or older by September 1 of their first year of enrollment. Parents/guardians should apply between January 1 and March 1 for priority consideration. Applications received after March 1 will be wait listed in the order received.
Within the pool of new family applications, we give enrollment priority to children of previously enrolled families. We also give priority to achieving a balanced age, gender, and race/ethnic mix among enrolled children.
We fill remaining openings through a random drawing. If your application is not selected during the initial enrollment period, you will be entered into a random drawing for wait list positions. Wait listed applications remain active throughout the following year. We will contact parents/guardians if a space becomes available. The school staff make all final placement decisions. Decisions are contingent upon the adjustment of the child.
There is a $75 per child non-refundable application fee. We must receive this fee in order for an application to be considered. The application fee covers administrative costs. It doesn’t guarantee placement at the Lab School.
We will notify parents/guardians of children selected during the initial enrollment period by March 31. A $200 per child non-refundable enrollment fee is due within 10 days of the placement offer.
